Our venue also requires our party to end at midnight so we’re throwing an after party at a club downwhere where my fiancé and I met. We’re getting a few tables and some bottles so the dancing can continue.

You’ll have to find a venue with a liquor license that lets them stay open past 12; those do exist in the UK but they’re not common, as that is a relatively new law. Anyone licensed prior to 2005 had to close at 11 or 12, and still has to unless they re-licensed, which most did not, as re-licensing is a huge paperwork nightmare and expensive. Newer businesses could pay extra to get a license that lets them stay open later but most just get the traditional license.

The license also usually forbids BYOB so if you really want to stay up late and bring your own booze, you may be best off looking for a private home, having a short courthouse wedding first (as the UK laws on where you can marry are pretty strict).

I think this has a lot o do with why British weddings start early and go all day. And truthfully if you’re going to follow British tradition, I don’t know if many guests would choose to stay past midnight when they’ve started the celebration at noon.
