So my fiance and I have been engaged since 2009, and we plan on getting married when we’re done with college. We would like to start saving for our wedding now, but the problem is that we can’t find a venue that we like…so we don’t know how much we need to save up! We’re looking for a venue along the Appalachian Mountains. We’ve looked in Asheville and the High Country, and in Georgia but nothing has caught our eye. We don’t want to get married on a farm, ranch or at an Inn/Hotel. Ideally, we’d like to get married with the mountains as our backdrop–we orginally were going to get married along the blue ridge parkway but they won’t allow you to get married in October there (and October is when the leaves are the prettiest!). Does anyone have any suggestions?

@syledwithakiss: Check out Round Peak Vineyard. It’s not in the mountains, but it is in the foothill with beautiful views of the mountains. My friend is getting married on June 2nd there, and it is beautiful (although the website needs work to show off how beautiful it is)

@WhiteWedding: Thanks for the suggestion!! I’ll see if I can visit there in the next couple of months!

@syledwithakiss: I don’t really have a suggestion but I would advise that you start saving what you can, now. It doesn’t hurt, and when you do find your venue you’ll at least have some money for a deposit! Good luck!!

I’m also looking for a venue in the App mountains, we’re looking in Asheville. Lake Eden is absolutely gorgeous. They have a barn, but also an option for a tented reception. Hidden River also looks really nice, and they also have a permanent tent for the reception.
