Hello Bees! I need your fashion advice!
I don’t have pictures of me, but I am adding pcitures of the dress. I’d LOVE to know what you think.
I am having my dress altered to tea-length. I REALLY like the look of a colored petticoat showing underneat the dress. I also bought red shoes, but those aren’t a deal breaker, they were on sale and I like them but I would be OK to get black shoes.
I’m having trouble putting together a cohesive theme, as far as what colors to pick for my shrug/petticoat/shoes.
- Our invitations are black & white damask with a splash of red (thin line under the damask topper and our names are both in red).
- My daughter and I will carry red rose bouquets.
- Fiance is wearing a dark grey morning suit.
This is my inspiration:
Here is my dress (no veil). I am getting it altered to tea length and will add a shurg and petticoat (see below). Also, here is the dress that my daughter (12 and the only attendant) is wearing:
I also own this shrug in both black and white:
The chiffon of the top of my daughter’s dress matches the chiffon in the shrug, which is why I was originally thinking black shrug…. Now that I am adding a colored petticoat I feel like I’m all over the place and that I will look like confetti has thrown up all over me if I have a million different colors in shrug / dress / petticoat / shoes.
I have already purchased these shoes, but they are not a deal-breaker. I just loved the splash of red:
white shrug / red petticoat / red shoes
black shrug / red petticoat / red shoes
white shrug / black petticoat / black shoes
black shrug / black petticoat / black shoes
