We’re struggling to decide what colour suits Fiance and his groomsmen should be wearing…we’re having a very informal, outdoor destination wedding in the Italian Lakes next summer. i will be wearing a simple ivory floor length dress and my bridesmaids will be mismatched, wearing the dress of their choice in shades of champagne and light blush. All the flowers will be ivory/cream.
If it had been a UK wedding, i’d probably have gone for a charcoal suit but i’m worried that it will be too hot in Italy for such a formal and dark colour. The ties will probably be light champagne…would that go with grey?
Help bees! opinions please…..

I’d maybe stick with charcoal but skip the waistcoat and make it a less formal suit type. Or maybe a lighter grey? They can always take their jackets off and they’d still look smart with shirts and ties 🙂

I also think *some* white suits can look good if they’re done *very* well lol but they can look sharp 😉

something like this for your Fiance and the groomsmen can wear the same suit but without the jacket?

Mid grey, or steel blue, or mid blue are all good. You could do glen check, or similar, perhaps. Sartorial tradition is to use the colours of the environment to choose the colours of one’s clothing, which is why you wear blue and grey in the city, and green and brown in the coutry. Given you’re in the lakes region, blue seems a match. Navy would work, and the men wuold be more likely to already own navy suits. If you want to really take the formality down, you could wear boating jackets, but that would go more with a tea lenght dress, perhaps.
Do you have photos of the region?

Thanks everyone for the advice… Fiance has said he definitely wants to buy a new suit but he wants it to be something everyone will be able to wear again so he’s ruled out white/cream.
He really wants medium grey but i’m just concerned it wont really go with champagne. Blue is a good suggestion, i hadn’t even thought of that.

Mid grey, light grey, or any shade of blue.
