I don’t really have a theme –I guess ivory, purple and dark grey. I chose this dress for the bridesmaids…. I was planning on putting a purple sash on their dresses I’m hearing a lot of people saying “oh, you won’t know who the bride is” What do you think????
The other girls in black will be wearing an ivory color….

Ya, I’m always confused at who’s getting married. Are they kidding? Of course everyone will know you’re the bride! I like the dresses

@AlwaysSunny: Thanks! that’s what I think too!! I mean the girls are wearing short dresses and I’m wearing the long one…

@jnj2014: I love bridesmaids in ivory dresses! I would hope everyone attending your wedding knows which one the bride is….

@jnj2014: I don’t understand people who say… people won’t know who the bride is. Well duh… the BRIDE is the woman standing next to the GROOM. It will be quite evident who the bride is because she’ll be the one getting married.
I really hope no one knows anyone that dense

While I don’t prefer the color, I think your choice of dress is fine. If people don’t know who the bride is, they shouldn’t be at the wedding…. and wait! Didn’t they notice who was getting married at the ceremony or are they only coming for the food and drinks?

Monochromatic bridesmaid dresses are a personal choice. I think it will look very elegant.
I wouldn’t use the purple sash though. I’ve never understood this practice. What other dress do we wear where we feel the need to tie a sash of another color around the waist?
They will, I presume, have flowers to carry. Give them colored bouquets and carry something more subtle for yourself.

Im not a fan, obviously your the bride and can clearly tell from the dresses but the colors are just too similar.

I like ivory bridesmaid dresses. But, I think you’re going to get a lot of “who is the bride” crap for it. Is there a color more like a blush ivory to set it off from your dress a bit more?
ETA: if the purple sash would be anything like the sash on the lady second from the right, don’t do it. The material looks cheap and it doesn’t lay nice–takes away from the dress really.

i think it will look pretty… personally.. its my day… I want to stand out and shine and if my girls are in the same colour the stand out portion is eliminated because you all blend together

I think it’ll pop better in photos if your bridesmaids aren’t wearing ivory. I know bridesmaids are family or very close friends – but they’re also fashion accessories to make you stand out, hahaha 🙂

@jnj2014: I LOVE the look of bm in ivory/white. The pictures always look incredibly elegant, chic and romantic. I sometimes wish I had done the monochromatic look with my BMs…brides are sometimes too focused on standing out but really your the lady in the long white lace dress/veil/big bouquet!!
I am not a fan of sashes that are a stark contrast to the dress color. I think they can really cut the body in an unflattering way.
Lovely choice on the different BM dress styles… they are not there as accessories but compliment your look 🙂
