That is lovely. So classy!

Have you thought about taking the picture to a local seamstress and seeing if you could just have them make it for you? Or do you really want the one with the designer label?

@mallorinicole:  Definitely look into it! Ask your female relatives, your female friends, your female friends’ female relatives, your female relatives’ female friends … anyone who’s been in a wedding will probably be able to point you toward the good local seamstresses (and warn you away from the bad ones). Look for someone independent – they are usually a better bet than someone who works for a bridal shop (and anyway, I doubt a bridal shop would allow one of their seamstresses to make a dress instead of having the client buy it from the store). You will probably be able to get it for a good price and have it customized exactly how you like it, choose the fabrics you want, etc.

One place you might try: see if any local colleges, universities, community colleges, etc. have a fashion design program – there might be a professor or instructor who would be interested in doing it as a freelance project. You could also check out the theatre department. Costume shops employ excellent seamstresses and tailors who would be able to create a gorgeous dress for you.

ETA: a fashion prof. or costume shop employee will be able to give you good recommendations about other people, too, even if they don’t want to do it themselves.
