i got married feb 12th this year…we sent ours out right after christmas (i didnt want them to get mixed in with christmas cards) and asked for replys back by feb 1st. (they had about 5-6 weeks to return) i didnt have to give my venue numbers until a week prior so that worked for us!
i dont think its too early to send them before the holidays – though we chose to do it after so it would be fresh in everyones mind.
we had sent out save the dates as well so everyone already had hotel/venue info from our website and could plan early if needed.

thats my main concern I dont want them to get mixed in with x-mas cards and forgotten and people not remember to send the reply cards back.
I think they need a final count two weeks before but I need to double check that. thanks for your input! I really appereciate the feedback.

We did ours pretty early (sent out last week for 10/29, reply date of 9/17), but so many people are from out of town, we need to know ASAP whether to expect 75 guests or 200 (either is entirely possible).
If its feasible, I would do it right after Xmas, because then people’s minds are more ready to move on to February after the holidays, but as a guest, I wouldn’t be offended getting an invite in November. I would give more than 2 weeks between mailing and reply date, though, especially if you are sending them before Xmas.

I was thinking the last week of November. I just dont want to send them out and everyone put them in a pile with x-mas cards and forget to send back the replys… hm… could have the reply return date be jan 11th? I dont know what even is proper time frame for invites.
