I want to have chiffon cap sleeves attached to my dress. My dress has already been altered and I wasn’t planning on having sleeves so I stupidly told the seamstress to toss all the material from my dress. So far David’s is the only place I’ve found them and they only have 2 styles to choose from. Not sure if either will go with my dress. Also my dress is diamond white so that may be an issue. I must have cap sleeves attached though. I’ve desperately been trying to gain weight but so far not much luck. My shoulders are so bony and scrawny right now it makes me wanna cry. I will be lifting some weights which will help a little but I really need to gain back the 15 lb I lost awhile ago to look good and feel confident in my dress. I love my dress but I think the little sleeves will help so much. I’m not into the look of a bolero so that’s out. Can anyone help me find cap sleeves? I don’t want to buy material and have them made from scratch, that is not in the budget at all! Thanks to anyone who can help!

I’m sorry I can’t be of much help but I don’t it would be a big deal if the cap sleeves didn’t match. I think ivory may work and I bet people wouldn’t notice. Maybe you can ask on the bee if anyone has leftover diamond white fabric too?

Thanks girls. I am considering the ones from David’s. I don’t know if cap sleeves would even look good with my dress though. Most I see have a sweetheart neckline, mine doesn’t. What do you think?

I don’t really think you need the sweetheard neckline in order to add straps. I also want to add straps, because I just don’t feel comfortable without them. I hear a lot of people saying, “they will ruin the look of the dress.” Really? Whatever, it’s your dress so you should make it like you’ll feel comfortable wearing it.
You can always order them and see how they look before sewing them on. Have you tried etsy?

cap sleaves are often made of a sheer fabric (beaded or lace) and not the fabric of the dress. I bet you could buy the fabric to have them made. (IE buy silk sheer fabric and apply a bead trim)
I think the dress would lok great witht the cap sleeves.
