Bees, we could really use some help! My FI’s a teacher and b/c of that we’re looking to take a Honeymoon ideally Dec. 26/27-Jan 1st. Next year is an “off” year for Spring Break for him (there isn’t one), so the only other time would be summer. It’s super hot in Wisconsin, and very busy time of year, so Dec. really is the best option for us.
However, flights, all-inclusives, etc. are SOOOOOOO expensive at that time! Anyone found a great site/mega deal? We’re looking into either Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and aren’t too picky…we just want to go somewhere warm when it will be freezing at home and would prefer the all-inclusive deal (FI’s never been to a resort).
Thank you!!!

Have you looked into cruises? Cruises are all-inclusive (except alcohol and any shore excursions) and pretty inexpensive. We just looked at a 7 day Caribbean cruise and it was $1000 for the both of us.

Before Fiance and I had won our honeymoon we were planning on doing this:

We have 3 children and we are going to take our honeymoon around this time when they are out of school and my dad will be able 2 take some vacation time and we can go.

@vorpalette: A cruise was our original plan, and we were SOOOO excited about it! Until we realized the “no spring break” problem, and the *affordable* cruises we were looking into docked only on Sundays or Mondays (which with our available week, Monday was Xmas Eve). But I am sooo jealous and hope you have a blast!!
@lindseyl06: Thank you for the site! I am going on it right now. I looked into cheapcarribean<something>.com (which is where I found the doubled prices for that week), soI’m hoping for better luck with this site! 🙂 Fingers crossed we will have enough points for at least one of us to get a free flight which will help too!
Thanks gals!

@MadTownGirl: Yeah, we wanted to go to Disney World, but um, it was over twice as much as the cruise. 🙁 We really enjoyed the cruise we took a couple of years ago, though, so we’re going to love this one.

If you can wait until late summer/early fall, travelzoo.com will probably start to post deals for that time of year. Sign up for their newsletter and they’ll alert you to their weekly deals. Also sniqueaway.com usually has deals you can’t find elsewhere. Check groupon getaways and living social escapes too.

@MadTownGirl: Your welcome! Good luck to you girl! I know finding a honeymoon spot at an affordable price was just as stressful as planning a wedding to me!

We are having a “mini-moon” right after our wedding in december (like a weekend to NYC or Chicago) and having our real honeymoon in the summer (Paris).
I thought maybe it could help you.
