Why would it be easier for your tranpsortation service? This doesn’t really matter I think, unless you would have to spend a significant amount on them having you get to the location. But some way or the other you would have to travel, either directly to the place of your first look or to the hotel.

If I were you I would get ready at home, if it’s what you’d love to do. My second choice would be to opt for an AirBnB.

I’d just get ready at home.

springlakebride :  I wouldnt worry about guests seeing you before the ceremony.

They most likely aren’t going to be walking around the venue hours before the ceremony. I would do whatever is logistically easier.

For me, having all my stuff at the hotel might be the easiest solution instead of lugging around bags on the day of the wedding. Its nice to have it all in one spot and everything you need after the wedding will already be in your room.

If the girls can take everything for you from your home to the hotel while you go to your first look, then that might work too. I would not do the air b&b. Either home or hotel.

Our house was actually closer to the ceremony location than the hotel, but the hotel is where we all got ready. It was just easier to have everything I would need for that weekend there. Plus, with all the last minute stuff, our house was a wreck, and I couldn’t imagine having to make sure it was clean enough for company and pictures before the wedding. And we have a dog, so I probably would have gotten dog hair all over the dress! Even if I would have scrubbed the house the night before, I’m sure I would have missed some somewhere! So for us it was easier getting ready at the hotel.

I definitely would get ready at the hotel. I doubt many people will see you, and even if they do it’s not a huge deal. I can’t imagine the amount of cleaning and decluttering I would have had to do the night before our wedding to have any decent getting ready photos at home. And an Airbnb seems like a huge waste of money if you already have a hotel room. We got ready in our hotel room (at the venue) and it was perfect. I don’t think any of our guests saw us beforehand.

springlakebride :  No problem! And yes, pet hair is everywhere! Also, just to add, it was a lot easier for all the bridesmaids to get ready at the hotel with me. They had their stuff there (most were from out of town) and they didn’t have to worry about forgetting anything.

I’d get ready at the hotel.  I’d be worried about wrinkling, creasing, or otherwise mussing up your dress during a 40 minute car ride.  I highly doubt the guests will see you at the hotel when you’re dressed up and leaving, as they’ll probably be in their rooms getting ready around the time you’re leaving to go do first look/photos.

springlakebride :  I wanted to get ready at my house but with 3 cats I knew my dress would be trashed before the day even started. I got ready at my parents house which was a 30 min drive away from the venue.

I got dressed at a hotel with my bridesmaids and family. We had a 2 floor suite. My parents wanted me at their house but I didn’t want to risk traffic or an accident making everything delayed (so likely here in Toronto). Our hotel was 10 mins from venue and it was much easier to get dressed here. My apartment was down the street (literally) so my H brought the things I had inevitably forgotten. Like my veil. Haha.
