We’re taking a 7 day cruise to Bermuda for our Honeymoon in October. Are you thinking Norwegian?

This will be our first cruise but I already know that we would much prefer to be in one awesome location for 3 days than multiple locations for only a few hours. I would much rather be able to fully explore the island than hop off the boat, do an excursion and then get back on board only to wake up somewhere different.

Hmmm tough call. Bernuda is small, so you may get bored being there for 3 days. My husband went on that same cruise before we got together, and he had a blast, but he also was wasted the whole time cuz him and his gf had just broke up and he took his friend in her place.  We did a similar Bahamas trip in December and it was cold, so I woudl check the weather in Bermuda in November. You also have to think about tropical storms in August.  But you would have more options of activities on the Bahamas cruise…

I know I am probably not helping you at all!

@Keltaena: Take which ever has more port stops. You can spend about 1 day on a ship and not go crazy. I did a Meico Cruise 7 days and it had 3 stops, I wish there was one more, but 3 is pretty good. I sailed on carnival whihc is kid central so there wasn’t too many people our own age without children… Get a room with a window that opens. I will never buy an inside cabin ever agian, it is worth the upgrade. even if you have to scrounge to quarters, it is so worth it. yeah, you are never in there but in the moring I would have killed for a balcony/window. It would have been nice to enjoy coffee in our own room, or just see daylight and not sleep in until 1.

3 days in the Bahamas would be sweet but I don’t know how much there is to do in Bermuda (like you said).  I would go for more stops!

Go for more stops. We will be going on a cruise stopping in Grand Turk (Turks and Caicos) and Nassau Bahamas. I am hearing great things about Grand Turk. You should also read the reviews of each cruise (and the ports) at CruiseCritic.com

I could spend hours on the boards and on this site learning about everything!

I would do the cruise with three stops.  Freeport was always one of my favorite stops.  (The daquiri’s in the coconuts in their shopping center across from the beach are to die for!).  Also, hurricane season isn’t supposed to be too horrible this year and August can be touch and go.  Even if the weather isn’t great, you can still find more to do like shopping, gambling, and other stuff when you have more stops.

@PitBulLover:I could spend a lot of time on the cruise critic boards too. I did for my last cruise and already am for the honeymoon cruise!

I would go for more stops, rather than the one place. We will be in Grand Turk in October and are going to go snorkeling. They say Grand Turk has the best snorkeling in the Caribbean(well, a Frommer’s book says that anyway.) I have never been to Nassau or Freeport, but I know they have a lot of excursions and things going on at those ports too.
