Ok- a little backstory. I have never had a “the one” moment dress shopping. I have tried on dozens of dresses, and even purchased around 5 (crazy I know) and have lost money and dealt with tons of frustration!
I finally settled on dress A because it was the most flattering on my figure and I thought it looked bridal. It also didn’t need any alterations but I did have some straps added. I dislike how plain it is, though I planned ot accesorize and I also feel it looks kind of princessy-also not what I was going for.
I just got dress B which is a totally different style. I do like it, however it is a mermaid shape, which I didn’t want. It will also need to be hemmed (more money to spend) and it is just a teeny bit small around the bust. I dont have big boobs, and I am not wearing a bra, it is because I have a lot of back fat. It’s about .5 inch too small right in the middle of my back. I have a little time to shed a few pounds, but that won’t necessarily spot reduce that problem area. So again, more money for alterations.
**Also- fiance has said offhand he dislikes mermaid and is more a fan of A line. His opinion is not the end all, but I do take it in consideration**
Long story short, I feel like I am never going to have an A-ha! moment, so which dress should I wear? Your help is appreciated! (Dress A is on top, Dress B is bottom)

I love the lace dress. Looks amazing on you!!! You may have to let it out a little for the busy but that is definitely my vote.

I love the mermaid on you. Looks beautiful!
I like the first dress too as far as how your body looks in it, but there’s something about those straps that’s throwing me off. The placement of them is wrong, like they’re too far in in the front. They kind of look added on.

llevinso: I agree 100% about the straps on dress #1! They ruin the whole look of the dress!
OP – I would go with dress B, it’s lovely on you!

Dress B is stunning! Are you still considering any of the other three dresses your purchased, or did you sell them? I have no idea what they may have looked like, but I really like Dress B on you.

There’s no contest between these. Dress two for sure, as the poll confirms.

Hi ladies, thanks for the advice so far! I have to agree that I felt the seamstress placed the straps a bit oddly, but I was planning to wear my hair half down anyway, if that helps anyone want to vote for dress A.

ljb16: so you’d hardly see the straps in the front, only in the back

Brielle: Hi Brielle- I did consign one, but it never sold :/ the others I returned since I was still able to. I’ve probably lost about $500 being indecisive!

ljb16: Unless you glue your hair to your chest Blue Lagoon style, it’s not going to hide those straps for long…

ljb16: I disagree with you that dress A is the most flattering for your shape – dress B is way more flattering on you by a landslide! I guarantee your Fiance would love dress 2 on you because of the way it flatters you regardless of this whole A-line business. To be perfectly honest…dress A is – nice. But just nice. Like in a snoozy kind of way. Dress B is – sexy and classy. Is it even a contest? B B B!!!

Also voting for dress B. I don’t care for the straps on A at all and B does way more for your figure.

The sensible optioni s dress A becaue you have a number of reservations about B but B really looks so lovely on you that it scored my vote. Howver, I thnk the straps issue with A did influnce my decision. Those straps seem to undermine the dress to me. Normally I am all in favour of starps but in the case of dress A I think they add an elementof distraction, I think my feelings are : dress A minus straps or dress B in its glorious entirety.
With your slender figure you look lovely in both so I really hope that on your wedding day you have that”I feel wonderful” moment (several moments in fact).

ljb16: I think losing only $500 is pretty good for having purchased five dresses. I’m glad you were able to return some of them and that you didn’t lose a lot more money.

They both look lovely. I think the lace flatters your figure the best. I know how it feels to be indecisive and lose money in this dress buying process. 😉
