Hi Bees – I need your help choosing a parasol pic for our Thank You cards. The below are our top two contenders and up until recently, we were planning on using the “kissing” one. We were thinking it was the best of the two (as did a few people we have asked). But my mom prefers the one with us facing forward, saying she doesnt like how you can’t see our faces in the kissing one. I initially brushed her comment off, but now I’m starting to wonder if she is on to something. Would guests be more inclined to keep/display the photo in their home if we are facing forward? We just really liked the warmth and love that we think shows in the kissing one (and I also dont love how we look in the other), but now we’re torn.
Which one should we use? Thanks in advance for your help!

Also – Any comments as to which picture you chose would be greatly appreciated! I love reading your guys’ comments 🙂

I love both of them, but I think that #2 is best for thank yous. You both look so happy in that one.

- Wedding: July 2012 - The Gables Inn, Santa Rosa, CA
I like the kissing ones best, but I’ve never been one for the “portrait” style photos, I prefer the ones that look like they could have been spontanious (even though I know that one is just as posed).

Number 1!!! So cute!!! So amazing!

I prefer to see faces. I think kissy pictures are nice and romatic for your own use/display, but I dont care to display kissy pictures of other people.

I like the one where you’re facing the camera, because it makes it seem like you’re delivering a sincere “thank you.” The photo of you 2 kissing is great, but it seems like the “thank you” is an aside–like, “oh, we’re so in loooove, and by the way, thanks for coming/buying us a present.”
You know what I mean? And you both look fantastic in the 2nd pic!

I chose the tradition one, because the guests will be able to see your smile and your hair looks nicer in the second pic. In the first pic it looks like you may have a short hair cut.

I chose #1, I think it is more loving and sweet. However, to be honest I probably wouldn’t display or frame either picture!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I really appreciate them. A lot of insight I hadnt thought of before, but now I’m more undecided than ever! If there are more opinions out there, please share! I’m terrible at overthinking this stuff….

What a tough choice. I love both of them. I really think you can’t go wrong. But I love the kissing one. A wedding is about love right?

I love the first picture the best! The second one is good too. I think it all depends, because the first one seems to be more on the romantic side, and the second one seems to be more formal. I guess it comes down to what kind of energy you want the card to deliver.
1st one is very romantic
2nd one is very nice, happylooking and more formal than the first

@Mithralia: This is a great way of putting it! Thank you
@PuntaCanaBride: Thanks for your comment. A wedding is about love right? Good point 🙂

I love the first one. I think if guests didn’t get any pics of the smooch at the wedding then they would love to have this one
