You look fabulous in all of them, but I am partial to #1 and #2. Yes, you could rock a mermaid.

I see no back or arm fat. You are very critical of yourself hun!

#1 and #4 are my favorites . I’d say mermaid and trumpet would look the best on your body type.<br />If you love the dress don’t let that fact that it is strapless hold you back, you could always add straps/sleeves.

    Ps. Love your hair!

BlueHairedBride:  I can’t really comment much on the dress shapes because the photos are all squished on my phone! Lol. But from what I can see they look lovely.

Is the Nicole Miller a satin mermaid? I’d try Justin Alexander, I think he has some like that and they are definitely in the UK! 🙂

SoonToBeMrs.Allen:  I thought the first two looked really nice, and then I got to the mermaids and realised how killer your body is (sorry if that sounds really bad!). You could probably wear anything you liked, but I think the mermaid and trumpet silhouettes will really work for you and show off your gorgeous shape the best.

Oh, the dreaded extra armpit cleavage. You honestly have nothing to worry about, whatsoever. We alllll get a little bit with certain dresses and certain angles. The most important thing is alterations – once you have the right undergarments (or none!) and the dress specifically fitted to you, I’m sure you’ll be happy.

You could go for a dress with straps if you were really that self conscious about it (which, to be clear, you really shouldn’t be!!!) but I think the strapless dresses look amazing on you and it sounds like you like them, so go for it!

The Nicole Miller Dakota looks gorgeous, but I would be concerned about the risk too. It’s amazing how subtle differences in fit and fabric can have a really big impact on the overall look. There are so many amazing mermaid dresses out there that I would encourage you to keep looking at the physical stores you have around you, if you have some time – it could save you a lot of stress.

    Good luck!

Your body would suit any shape dress. I really think you should take the plunge and order the dress you want.  If it doesn’t work out you might be able to sell it online….but if it does work out you’ll beone happy bride!

BlueHairedBride:  Also, I’m assuming Frou Frou Bridal Boutique in Kent don’t stock that particular dress, even though they stock Nicole Miller? Even if they don’t have a sample in store, it’s probably worth checking with them about how much it would be if they ordered it for you – there’s always a small chance it could end up being cheaper than paying for delivery and duty yourself…

I voted mermaid and think number 4 is fantastic on you, I’m in UK too and I wanted a Sottero Midgley mermaid dress Penelope, but didn’t want to spend £1800 on it, I found this amazing lady who runs a bridal shop out of her home and I got my dress brand new the exact one I wanted in my size for £400 I found her by chance on ebay but she does have a Facebook page. It was such a special experience as I took my FI he stayed in the kitchen with a cup of tea whilst I tried my dress on so much better than bridal shop experience. Here’s a link she has tons of dresses, link to one of her listings so check out her others and maybe contact her. She is in Staffordshire which was a 4 hour journey for us but so worth it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Maggie-Sottero-ANTONIA-Wedding-Dress-Brand-New-SZ-14-Ivory-/271590385474?pt=UK_Wedding_Dresses&hash=item3f3c0c6742

I think #3 looks the best on you, but I don’t like that dress. Definitely try on more fit-n-flare style dresses!
