Help! after trying on (and subsequently buying) my dress today I realized in the photos my Fiance took that I have HORRIBLE arm fat! I’m pretty cool about my weight and so I’m not worried about losing any dress sizes, but is it even possible to lose arm fat without losing body fat? Wedding isn’t for an entire year so I’m eager to start a regimen. Will just pushups, arm curls, and some tricep kickbacks work?

Unfortunately, you can’t spot reduce fat. Those exercises will tone the muscles but the only way to get rid of the fat is through cardio and diet.

@MrsSaltWaterTaffy: She said it! You’ve got to include the cardio, but mixing in strength training is a great boost for your metabolism!

You’ve got to do it all! But that means you need to have a good arm routine regularly built into your workout. Try to include all muscles, so combine all of these exercises:
That’s a good routine that will give you overall toned arms! Plus cardio and diet! =)

You said you’re “pretty cool with your weight” so are you sure it’s even a problem? You may just be freaking out for no reason (as us women usually do, lol). Maybe it was just a bad angle?
But, MissAsB said it, you can’t spot reduce fat (I think she stole that from Jillian Michael’s No More Trouble Zones, hahaha). But doing pushups never hurt anyone!!! I’m about to start the 100 pushup challenge, I took the initial test and can only do 10 (and a half) real (not girly) pushups. They claim if you follow the program after 6 weeks you’ll be able to do 100 real pushups. Maybe that’s something to look into.
