Hi my fiance and I want to have a nice 30 minute ceremony that not only incorporates jewish and christian traditions, but also some spiritual. Our venue is a yacht company and it includes an officiant, the captain, who doesn’t even meet with us until one month before. They said that normally ceremonies are only 15 minutes, but we want to create a 30 minute ceremony. Should we have someone read a passage from the bible and torah and a secular spiritual prayer? I thought that the captain might not want to talk the whole time. Also, what do you think about our vows? My fiance wants to do traditional vows, but I want to create something special, do you have any suggestions that on the one hand, won’t make him feel awkward, but on the other hand, will make me feel like we gave our guests a really nice ceremony? Also, I thought that I would ask a rabbi and pastor to meet with us to help, check out some wedding vow books and watch some really nice wedding videos online, so if you have any links to ceremony videos that you really liked, that fit what we are looking to do or any suggested books or officiants to speak with, please share. Thanks SO much!
