If it’s getting out of hand, go to a aesthetician, talk to her about your problems, get a facial, have her do the extractions and see if she can recommend some products to help you stay clear for the big day…any product with Witch Hazel is a winner!

Perhaps you aren’t using the right creams for your skin. I know that for me, Salicylic Acid doesn’t do a whole lot — it may help a few spots, but not the larger ones or super-persistent flesh colored bumps. I can’t use Benzoyl Peroxide due to being allergic, but it works extremely well for many people. However, adults usually do well with sulfer in their cream, so try Clearasil Adult, or Mario Badescu Drying cream. Perhaps you can keep a dab of Queen Helene’s Mint Julep Mask (which also contains sulfer) on a stubborn area overnight.

Do you wash your face at least twice a day?

If you’re really concerned, you might want to try a cheap (even without insurance) pill like Doxycycline if the issue is serious enough. If not, just drink tons of water, wash your face, eat well, and see what happens.

Acne comes from within, so while some products can be helpful, you really have to figure out why you’re having acne. Usually it’s related to diet. Try and cut out dairy and gluten and see if that helps!

@BlondeMissMolly:  totally agree on this one i have had mild acne for years and the only thing that clears it up is when i stop eating sugar πŸ™ and i have a friend who breaks out when she has too much dairy! unfortunately the saying ‘you are what you eat’ is true!

See a dermatologist ASAP!  You might need prescriptions… Those otc products and Proactiv do NOT work for everyone.

I feel like I’m a walking advertisement for this thing, but I had seriously horrifying skin for the longest time. I tried proactive and it didn’t do jack. One of my friends recommended Acne Getaway 101 and I was kind of suspicious, but tried it. It worked!!! I think it’s recommended to do it twice a day, but I only did it once a day (because I was lazy -_-) and it cleared up my skin like nobodies business.

It’s all natural and when you first apply it, it kind of smells. But after 5 minutes, the smell goes away and it’s fine. But yeah, it seriously works.

Besides that, I would also recommend exercise and a lot of water.
