Could we see a picture of the dress in question? I’m a little confused.

I think it depends on what you want. Personally I’m leaning toward mismatchy bridesmaids anyway (united by a single common element like color/fabric type), but if you want them all to look the same, alterations would be the way to go.

Either way, she should really be supporting what you want.

    I agree with atalante.

If it’s going to bother you, then make her get it altered; you’re paying for it and it’s her fault it was messed up in the first place, so why is she having an issue?

If you really don’t care, then just let it go so you don’t have to deal with her drama.

You’re being way nicer than I would have been, just so you know, so kudos to you! 😉

Got to love bridesmaids…just offer to pay for the alteration. When it’s not a lot of money, she will probably feel stupid and pay anyway.

I agree–do what will make you happy. If the missing strap will bother you, get it altered. If you won’t mind, then let her cut the strap. At the end of the day, it’s about what will make you most happy, and since you’re willing to pay for the alterations anyway, you should definitely do what you want. 🙂

So sorry to hear that. :  The dress is beautiful, very classy. Even though I’m leaning mismatchy, in this case I’d extend the strap and keep the V.
