Hello everyone! I could use your help with suggestions for a brunch wedding buffet so I can set up our caterer tasting. (I know I’ve seen some people say they don’t like brunch food at noon, when our food should be served, but we are set on this plan.) I know we want scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, fruit, pastries, and a waffle bar (NON-negotiable lol). But I want something that is a little more brunchy and a little less breakfast-y if that makes sense. What about fried chicken (my Fiance and his family are southern) or carved ham or something else like a Parmesan-aspargus egg bread braid? We will be having ~20 people and all family. If you had a brunch wedding, please share your menus and pictures!

you literally cannot go wrong with chicken and waffles for brunch. Literally, absolutely cannot.

You do realize you made my FI’s day right? 😛 I’m totally willing to let him have them especially if people on here think it’s acceptable. I’m not southern and have only been here like 2.5 years so it’s still a little weird but he LOVES them. That’s part of the appeal of the waffle bar!

I’d add a shrimp and grits option, if your caterer can do that.
I love brunch and I’d be so excited for your wedding!

LOVE this idea, brunch is my favourite, I’d be so excited to go to your wedding! All sounds amazing, including chicken & waffles, possible other suggestions would be an omelette bar? avocado toast? mimosas? bbq beans to go with eggs? mini bagels? I’m drooling at the thought of all this amazing food! My boss makes this incredible stuffed bread with boiled eggs, ham, sundried tomato, olives & cheese which could be an option? So what we have come up with for the tasting is:
Country fried potatoes
Chicken and Waffles bar (The venue website has this available with berries, honey butter, whipped cream, syrup, and fried chicken)
Pastries (Croissants or danishes + savory pastries)
Possibly a Monte cristo sandwich if we don’t like the fried chicken.
Coffee, tea, infused water, OJ
OMG that bread looks amazing… I might have to make that TODAY.
Lol my FI’s family would love it! I love shrimp, but my mom is allergic so I’d want to make sure that there is another protein option she could have, espcecially since she is one of only ~20 people to be there.

your reception sounds like an absolute dream!!! Even if you don’t add a single thing to the menu you just presented, it’s gonna be perfect! 🙂

Other than the chicken & waffles, the menu reads more like breakfast and less like brunch to me. Don’t get me wrong, I like breakfast as much as I like brunch, but there is a difference.
yogurt parfaits with fresh fruit and granola?
What about adding some sort of salad? (Plenty of brunch menus offer a salad option)
a savory frittata instead of scrambled eggs? Or eggs Benedict?

Thank you! We are super excited!
I think I might change the scrambled eggs to a frittata. The true problem is breakfast food is just too good!

Make your own omelette station!! 🙂

Country gravy! I love gravy with fried chicken and potatoes– and biscuits if you want to add those.
