I have got to have charger plates. I just think they add to the decor of any wedding venue. I am willing to splurge on them, but I refuse to spend $1000 + on them. Does anyone know where I can find them on the low? Renting is out of the question. I need 200 of them. I’d prefer a gold color but don’t want a solid gold charger.
Just to give you a visual. My colors are blush, ivory, gold and dusty rose. Linens are ivory and the napkins will be a rose color. I like the belmont chargers but they are too pricey. Any suggestions will help regarding substitution of charges.
I have champagne tastes on a beer budget. LOL!

How fancy do you want to get? I know Michael’s sells chargers that aren’t expensive (well they were on sale for like $1 not too long ago), but I’m sure they’re not the highest quality. Additionally, why is renting not an option? Are the prices you’re finding too high or do you want the option to resell (or maybe you need 200 chargers around your home???)?
edit: also some cheap, but again probably not the best, options on Smarty had a Party: http://www.smartyhadaparty.com/Dinner-Table-Charger-Plates-c350.aspx

I’ve seen them at places like Michaels and Hobby Lobby. Also, I cannot say I have ever ordered anything from this site, but I pinned save-on-crafts.com, and they have charger plates. You also might want to check ebay.

They are charging almost $6 to rent the Belmont Charger that I like. For that price I can buy them. I will most likely resell them afterwards or give them to my coordinator who rents stuff out. I will have to check out Michaels. I missed all of the after Christmas sales seems like it!

@kaa02c: I had the same color palette as you, and I also had wanted the belmont chargers! Since $6 a plate just seemed a tad riciulous, I did get solid gold chargers for all of the guests and rustic chargers for the head table for the bridal party. For the sweetheart table, I used iron rustic charger plates, along with china and smaller belmont plates with the gold beads. That way, I was able to have chargers for everybody, but still get the pictures I wanted. Also, I got my gold chargers from Posh Couture in Dallas, Tx. They were having a special whenever I got mine and I got them for $1 a piece! 🙂

I jsut purchased silver chargers for $1.oo each off Craig’s List. I plan on reselling them after the wedding and should basically get most of my money back, much better than renting! I am sure if you find silver chargers you could spray paint them gold.

@txrodeo: I purchased the belmont chargers ($27.99 a piece) and rented them out a few times. Now I am selling them for $15 a piece. 415 available 🙂 I was renting them for $2-$3 a piece and brides loved them at that price!
They were definitely a must at our wedding- well worth the splurge 🙂

Hi Guys,
If anyone ended up buying gold beaded belmont chargers, I would be interested in buying or renting them from you. I have a great caterer who will rinse the plates clean and then ship them back the following day (already arranging this with vintage china vendor). Let me know!:)
