I’m trying to decide on a good third color to go with the first two that I’ve picked. Basically I’d like to go with a dark teal / peacock as the main color (the color of the bridesmaid dresses). As a neutral, I thought I’d go for a silvery gray. But I need one more color and I’m having trouble picking something that won’t distract from these two, and yet isn’t just a lighter version of teal.
My best friend got married recently, and her colors were three tonal shades of blue – a dark teal/aqua, a light teal/aqua (sea foam-ish), and a slate blue. I’d really feel like I was copying her if my third shade was also blue.
I’ve been trying to figure out if a shade of green could work. Thoughts on the below? Any suggestions on sites where you can browse tons of color shades and put them together?
The first pic is a palette I put together on the nearlyweds.com color chooser. I didn’t find that one too helpful, I couldn’t get it to create the type of ‘dark teal / peacock’ that I’m really looking for. The second pic shows the color a bit better.

How about white? sounds strange but really could add a great pop if used minimally

I think that if you did the dark teal with a pale aqua/teal blue (more blue rather than that seafoam color) and maybe a chartreuse or lime green, that would be pretty.

I agree with zippylef, I like the lime green.

My first thought was a silver!

As far as shades of green, mint would also look like.

You know, a purple would be pretty too!

I don’t know if this is what you were thinking but the colors reminded me of peacock colors so I goggled it it and it had dark purple, dark green and dark blue.

My first thought was apple green. Something like this:

I like the copper idea. Also thought of yellow or orange – a little “lighter” for a spring wedding. Something like this:
And here are a couple of boards that show shades of green and/or purple – very rich looking:

A little bit of delay here, but thanks so much everyone for responding! Some really great ideas that I would never have thought of.
@Oneeleven: Mint was the color I was thinking of in my head, so I’m glad someone else agrees 🙂 Some of the other palettes people posted also had this color.
I am actually REALLY digging the idea of light purple mixed in! Someone else posted a palette with light pink and the teals/greens, but I’m now debating on the purple instead, thanks!
You know – I would never have thought to put a dark yellow with this color combo, but I LOVE the pics you posted with the yellow flowers and teal table runner. FI’s favorite color is yellow, so the nice thing is that this would actually incorporate both our favorite colors! You awesome!
