Hi all!! This is my first ever weddingbee post – yay! Anyways, we have booked our venue for our wedding next August and the place for our reception is a really large room with large, velour-like, maroon curtains and a beige/champaigne colour floor. I love the bright colours in the magazines (especially for summer) but am not sure how risky this is with the curtains. Also, I have been especially attracted to apple green but am not sure what other colours to add to it.
So…what is your opinion? How much do I have to worry about the background curtain colour? What colours might look nice? (unfortunately I’m not a huge fan of red or blue myself – even though I love what everyone is doing with these colours!) What colours would be a BIG no? Any other ideas?
Thanks all for your time!!

I don’t think you have to worry about the background curtains at all, people generally don’t take things like carpet and wall paper in to consideration wtih thier colour scheme so you should be fine. If you love apple then rock it! I have seen some cute inspiration boards lately with Apple and Plum together. I have also been swooning over some Apple Green and Tiffany Blue combos. You can do whatever colours you like best!

I worked at a country club where the banquet halls curtains were heavy maroon tapestries. The floors were beige, red, and green. We had all sorts of weddings in a wide variety of color schemes- none of them looked bad. Feel free to pick!
