hey all I need some opinions because I’m so torn. I have a .90ct halo engagement ring with really good stats. I love it the-stone was my moms but I can’t help but always look at rings- I just love jewelry. I saw this ring in Costco that was 1600 dollars. The sparkle on it is just amazing..so eye catching. I guess I feel a little guilty- I thought I could switch up hands some times. What is your opinion on the Costco ring, also should I just save my money and wear my original e-ring? What would you do..as far as diamond jewelry goes 1600 is very reasonable BUT in reality that’s a nice chunk of money to have for a rainy day- help!!
top is my ring
bottom Costco (I would wear it on its own)

I’d wear your original e-ring. It has sentimental value, which you can’t put a price on.

I’d save the 1600 and just wear your ering. Why waste 1600 on another ring so similar when you have a perfectly nice one already. IF anything I’d spend that money on one of those costco tanzanite rings or something different. And I like your ering more than the costco ring.

Is the Costco a cluster? It’s very pretty!!

Is the Costco a cluster? I wouldn’t spend $1600 on a cluster.

Your ring is really awesome and although the sparkle is great on the Costco ring, yours is more tasteful and elegant.

Your current ring is 100x better, bee!

I like your original ring much better! Save your money or put it towards a different kind of diamond jewelry. (Right hand ring, diamond studs, tennis bracelet, etc)

Hiya OP, I’m a fellow jewelry loving Bee. I’m a collector with a special place in my heart for antique and vintage rings.
Your original ring is gorgeous & the quality of the stones comes through in your photo; I can’t say the same for the Costco ring. I’m aware Costco is reputed to have okay quality diamonds, but in your shoes I would save that $1600 and keep looking for something that makes your heart sing. If you are still thinking about this ring after looking (seriously looking – not just browsing) Costco should likely have some available – and even if they don’t, it’s not a unique enough ring that you won’t find a similar one elsewhere.
in my opinion, the only time to ‘jump’ on purchasing a piece is if it’s a one of a kind – and even then, make sure there is a solid return policy.

I’d personally keep my current ring and spend the cash on a right hand ring.

It is always fun to try on all things sparkly, isn’t it?
I personally prefer your mother’s ring. It has a much lovelier design execution. The Costco ring is a cluster and has vacant space between the center collection of stones and the halo. Those two things, to me, always make a ring look a bit less polished and well designed.
I do like the shape (more oval) on your lovely finger, and the size though. Warehouse lighting sure does something to draw your eye all the way across the other side of the building over to peek at the jewelry section, doesn’t it?

A lot of ladies have more than one “engagement” ring but I wouldn’t want one as similar as my original. Plus, the Costco ring is a cluster (I tried it on myself) and while it does have a lot of sparkle, I don’t care for clusters myself. So that’s $1,600 I’d rather keep in my bank account. Or, if I really had the itch to get another ring, I’d spend it something completely different.
