    I also plan on getting married outside and I think the weather is just one of the downfalls to this plan. I would ask the venue what they have done in the event of rain. If they have been in business for a while I am sure they have had issues come up before. Maybe they can help you with some ideas.

    We’re planning on an outdoor ceremony and a barn reception (on the same property) so our rain plan is just to move it inside the barn if necessary. It won’t be exactly the same feel, and while *I* wouldn’t mind having it outside in the rain, I’m not sure our guests would love it 😉

    I bought a tent of the onternet, cost 1/3 the cost to rent and I can sell after.

    Coming from a bride that her wedding day POURED! I Suggest having a back up plan. As my hubby use to tell me is to plan for worse case scenerio. Our ceremony was suppose to be outside but was moved indoors.  I wouldn’t risk not being able to get a tent in time.  Besides, even if it is a sunny beautiful day some people might want some shade!
