Did you just fold by hand or did you use a tool?

If folding doesn’t work out, you could mount the invite and the additional information on a green backing, then create a belly band also out of the green paper to hold them together. You could incororpoate a peacock feather on the belly band.

All you need is a bone folder they are about $3 each at micheals or joann’s.  That way you get a really nice fold!  By The Way they look beautiful

do you have a paper cutter? you can buy a scoring edge instead of a cutting edge and score it before folding it. I just finished making pocketfolds out of cardstock for my stepbrother’s wedding and the scorer worked like a charm.

I think a nice backing/matted look would be nice! Possibly giving you more room to do a bow! I think Belly Bands are great too! 

Have you tried using the back of a knife and running it against the ruler? Just a thought! Hope that makes sense! BEST OF LUCK!
