I agree with almost all your points.

First, I think there are too many prongs on the center stone and kind of “traps it”. I would even consider going with just four – enough to keep your ring secure but also let the stone stand out. I’d lose both the ones in the middle of the center stone going vertically and horizontally. I also think all the prongs look too high, are they going to stick up like that or be bent over the side stones? Either way I think they should be shortened to secure the stones on the side rather than go over the faces, or go over just a bit to secure the stones on their corners.

The side view of the leaves look fine to me though, the points match right into the middle of the side stones.

Can you post your inspiration pics so we can see that to compare with this? I see what you mean about the leaves but I can’t quite figure out what would work to change them…

Oh, now that mention the leaves extending to the prongs that might look pretty and “basket” the side stones. I like the setting as it is now because you get two “stories” from top view and side view. (I’m partial to decorative settings for mine has a detailed side view, but from the top it’s just the diamond).

Would it hurt to ask whoever is making the setting to show you different versions, like the leaves extended, etc.?

I like the idea of trying to turn the small leaves into the side stone prongs. Omg this is tough, but he is so good.

Ooh, you got them early! Beautiful ring (and lovely inspiration pics!)

I agree that the 8 prongs are way too much, so good call there! I actually like the way the leaves are (they’re a lot like your 4th inspiration pic!) but I also like the idea of somehow making them prongs for the side stones! Though I wonder if 6 prongs on the side stones might overwhelm them/be too much? Hmm…

Either way, you have the makings of a gorgeous ring there! So exciting!

michellelynn9175 :  Yea, 8 prongs are too much. 6 would be better. The should and shank looks good, like you said. I actually don’t mine the leaves as they are. They give it a nice design. Maybe taking it down with 6 prongs, might have the with floral bulging from the top view. Though it’s hard to tell how it wil be because the prongs are standing up in the CAD views. It’s going to be an amazing ring for sure though:D If it comes out well, I might jump on the 3 stone ring, hehe.
