Hello everyone!
I have a somewhat silly question. I’m getting ready to make appointments to go try on wedding dresses. I want to make appointments at a few stores, probably three or four. How long should I plan for each appointment, and how far should I space them out?

Although I shopped at probably 10 different stores, I found that I couldn’t do more than 3 in a day without feeling totally wiped out. I would say that you would want to budget maybe 2 hours per store, so that you don’t feel rushed getting around. It does depend on the store and their selection, but you don’t want to feel like you have to speed through the place. In addition to travel time, you might want to budget at least a half hour in between appointments. I found that it was helpful for me to take a small break after each place, so I could think about the dresses we saw. My mom and I went on a marathon shopping trip (to 5 different stores in the same day) and we gave ourselves a little break between each one–grabbed coffee or lunch. This way, we could talk about the dresses we had seen and compare them with the ones at the other stores.
Are you bringing anyone with you to the appointments? The best advice I can give you there is not to bring too large of a group. I found it kind of overwhelming to have multiple opinions when I was looking. I kept it to just one other person at a time (either my mom or sister).
Also, do you have ideas about what you want to try on? I’d pull some photos online and bring them with you. Although, I’d say go ahead and try on stuff that you thought you’d like, but also be open to other ideas. I know so many people (myself included) who ended up falling in love with a dress that was nothing like their initial idea of what they wanted. I thought I wanted satin, no beading/lace, halter or tank style and bought a strapless dress with lace and beading. The consultant pulled it out for me and I was willing to give it a shot.
Good luck on your shopping and make sure to let us know how it goes!!

I agree with Jessie above. I’d stick to 2, maybe 3 stores a day tops. Allow about 2 hrs per store, then time to grab a bite to eat or coffee in between. You want to refuel and reflect on the dresses you just saw.
I brought my sister to all my appts, it was nice to have a continuous person with me who really gets my style. My mom also came to most appts. That’s it. I agree, keep it small, otherwise it’s going to be overwhelming.
Also, wear boy shorts. You’ll be stripping down in front of strangers so keep that in mind. I wore my own strapless bra and boyshorts. I also brought my own shoes that were about the height I wanted to wear on our wedding day. This is more because I’m 5’9" and wanted to make sure the dresses were long enough on me.
Have fun!!

awesome! Thank you so much ladies! Great idea with the shoes too because I have the opposite problem, I’m only 5’0" and definately want a heel so I’ll need to look into that too.
