Ever since I began planning my wedding, I imagined my dress a certain way. I wanted a mermaid style and it definitely had to be silver. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. So from the get go, I knew it would have to be made.
Well, I went dress shopping last night and fell in love with a dress not like what I described above, but I absolutley love the dress. Now the question is, do I get it exactly how it is or do I still have it made in the silver? My sister says it is gorgous as is. In my mind I still want silver, but I am torn. I don’t know if the dress will still have the WOW factor in a different color.
What do you think? Please help….

It you think it is beautiful as-is you should go ahead and purchase it, IMO. Is there a way you can see what it would look like in silver to be sure? Maybe there are other ways you can incorporate silver into your wedding? Bridesmaids dresses? Silver tablecloths? Metallic decorations?

Is there a way you could still give a nod to your love of silver? Shoes/accessories/clutch? Or a sash around your waist?

Have you tried on any silver wedding dresses, to make sure you know you love the color on some wedding dresses? If you found your dress and you think it’s perfect, I would be hesitant to change the color, but it sounds like you found A dress you love and if it were silver, it would be your dress.
Which dress is it?

I was set on a silver/gray dress and that is what I ended up getting, BUT I tried on a silver dress to make sure it was good on my coloring. I actually think the embellishments stand out more on silver dresses but I always had a good eye on visuals.
The thing I did was ask the designer if they can get the fabric in silver/gray. Most designers will tell you if you can or can’t.
Also if you don’t feel comfortable with your imagination, have a friend/coworker/nice stranger 🙂 photoshop the dress into the color you are imagining.
