So I am freaking out about what to wear for engagement pics – we’re doing the shoot in a park with nowhere to change, so I only get one outfit. Plus, we’re using the pictures to make a photobook for people to sign instead of a guestbook, so these pictures are pretty important to my fiance and I.
I bought this dress, but I don’t know how to wear it. Fiance will be wearing dark jeans and a plaid button down and brown shoes. I don’t know whether to wear a cardigan and flats, jacket and tights, sweater and boots….and even between those, I’d have to buy them and don’t know what to look for!
If you guys were going to wear this dress for a somewhat casual-but-still-nicer-version-of-your-daily-self shoot, what would you pair it with?

Personally I’d wear a cute cardigan and flats, or heels but I would sprain my ankle in heels 😉

Cardigan and flats or heels in an eye-catching color! Love the dress!

With this dress I would do flats and a cardigan. I know you can’t change because you are in a park but you could add tights and boots. Maybe even a blazer! It would be easy switch up jewelry.

I think a cardigan and flats or wedges – a park might make other heels a little harder.
Bring a bag of accessories you can switch up with you. Just because you can’t change the dress doesn’t mean you can’t change the ‘outfit’!

I’m wearing a navy dress too and I’m doing a goldenrod colored cardigan and brown boots and cute jewelry but like @CoCoCourtney said you could bring a bag with you and change it up. Wear boots and tights and a cardi for one outfit, wear flats and jewelry and maybe nothing else, then maybe a blazer with flats or riding boots, etc. Good luck girl! I’m sure you’ll look great!

Thanks everyone! I loved the advice of switching up accessories to make two different looks, so that’s what I did! It was unseasonably warm for October in WI – 80 degrees – so my main look was a little warm, but I loved it. First I wore the dress with a black cardigan, gray tights with tiny black polka dots, and black flats, with a black, purple, and silver beaded necklace. The fiance wore a button down shirt that was buttoned up with dark jeans and nice shoes.
Then when I started feeling sweaty, I went sans cardigan and tights, and wore the dress with just navy flats and a cute multi-colored necklace. The fiance unbuttoned his shirt and was wearing a Brewers shirt underneath.
Hopefully it turned out well! I canNOT wait to see the pictures!
