I am struggling with my groom’s attire. I have the groomsmen in tuxedos with matching ties/vests to match the color of the bridesmaids (royal blue). Fiance said that if you’re in a tie, you might as well just wear a suit, and I do want a formal look for him so I decided on a bowtie for him. I HATE how the high vested look looks with a bowtie. I love the deep v with the shirt showing. Both of us don’t like cumberbunds, but all the deep-cut tuxedo vests that I can find are backless, which would mean he couldn’t take his jacket off, which is a no-go.
So my options are cumberbund, neither cumberbund nor vest (but afraid the pants will fall a bit as he is anti-suspenders and then will billow out) or wear the backless vest and just be ok with him taking off his jacket (though guessing he wouldn’t be ok with that and I also think it would look silly). He’s really hot, but has love handles like any guy who is 15 pounds overweight might, so he’s not Daniel Craig in that region!
