You can get nearly the same look with a cathedral setting,  which to me seems more secure.

That’s a gorgeous ring! It is a high setting, but it depends on you and how likely that is to be a problem. Do you work with your hands? Cook a lot? Also will it bother you to take it off sometimes to protect it? My ering is high set and I generally only wear it during the week or when going out. On the weekend at home, doing the dishes etc I leave it somewhere safe and just go with my wedding band. I love it, but I’m happy to forgoe it sometimes to look after it. If you are someone that never wants to take it off once you’ve got it on your finger, perhaps trying to get something similar made in a different setting would be worthwhile.

My ring is a very similar design, round halo, and looks similar from the side. Personally I do not find it too high for daily wear (I have an office job). I take it off when doing chores because I want to protect it, not really cos it gets in the way. I say go for it!

bowsandsparkles:  thank you!

I also want to add that a higher setting will allow you to find a wedding ring that can sit flush against it. Make sure the halo is raised so as to allow for amother ring to sit right next to the engagement ring. Hence I think a high setting has it’s benefits.

bowsandsparkles:  I would be worried about the head of the ring snapping off if it caught on something. I think
