Hi all! My son turns 2 in September and I’m planning a party for him and need some help with ideas for activities! It will be at our home, we have a large porch, fenced backyard, and swingset, so that will provide some entertainment. There will be about 12 children there age ranges from 1.5-4. It’s Sesame St themed. Any ideas for activities for that age range? I know the little ones are tough since keeping their attention for group activities isn’t always easy! TIA!

I would think of hiring a face painter and balloon artist. Maybe you can have a sesame themed treaure hunt!

Could you do bobbing for apples but incorporate that into the theme somehow? Maybe make it Oscar’s trash can? And then for the cookie monster you could have a decorate your own cookie station.

DZMeadowz : hire a face painter and balloon artist. Those are always a hit at little kids parties!

if it’s in your budget, i would definitely do some kind of bounce house. those are always such a huge hit, even for adults! as far as games you can do some kind of trash can toss with oscar. or a cookie toss where you have cookie shaped bean bags and toss them into cookie monster’s mouth. i love the other bee’s suggestion of decorate your own cookies.

We rented a bounce house for my son’s 2nd birthday and it was a HUGE hit with the kids and adults alike!

I think a bouncy castle is a great idea but in my experience, the kids will be happy enough to just tear around and play with each other!
