Hey bees, I need some help! I have a couple last minute projects to do, and I’m completely wiped for creativity. So here’s what I need help with…
#1: Tableclothes. I only have 20 days left, and I’m thinking about just getting a cheap blot of fabric in something kind of clingy or silky and cutting it into tableclothes… if I cut neat enough, whose going to pay attention to the hems? They’ll be on the floor lol. Plus a nice runner will attract all attention towards the center and the decorations, right? Yay or nay?
#2: Cake topper. Omg how did I forget this? I’m not so into the people figurines… I found a cute one in a wedding magazine that was just the words ‘we do’ painted yellow, in all lowercase. Of course mine would be a different color, but I think the idea is charming and better suited for what I want. Or maybe two roses on the top? Or a different phrase- something like ‘mr. and mrs.’ or ‘just married’? Any opinions?
#3: Sweetheart table. I want it. My FH isn’t so keen on it, but agreed. How to make it special, and intimate, while not being closed off from guests? All the other tables are long, rectangular ones that seat a lot of people. I’m going to decorate it with my bouquet and some tea candles, but I need some more low-height ideas (so nothing gets in the way for photos). I’m thinking either a ‘love’ sign, which I can find just about anywhere around this time of year, a ‘mr. mrs.’ sign, or something like that. Ideas?
#4: Chair decorations. Without seat covers. Tulle ribbons maybe? Idk. I do want an smpersand hung between hubby and my chair though, for sure.
#5: Card box. I don’t even know…
That’s it. A huge list of things I’m sooo confused on. Any feedback please?
*In case it’s relevent, our colors are shades of red and burgundy, silver and white, with teeny bits of black. The theme is winter and romance. 🙂

At this point I’d cut the chair decor. That’s going to be a lot of work and if it’s last minute I think it might look like an after thought.
If you’re still struggling on the cake topper, look for an ornament. You can set it on the top or attach it to a florist card pick to stick it in the cake. I wouldn’t put anything that you paint on top of the cake, you don’t want to eat paint.
Make sure to leave room for the tablecloths to gather so they don’t look oddly stretched, which will draw more attention to undone hems. Also consider people’s legs and feet will be touching those tablecloths, including the bottom.

Yeah you may be right. But I’m definately not giving up on the ampersand chair tie. I love that detail ridiculously, lol.
I like the ornament idea, I’ll have to look for some!
Thank you 🙂

1. Tablecloths-nay- need a hem- do you have a friend who has a serger? That will do up the hems lickety split.
Do you have room in your budget to buiy them? Often is cheaper than rental and for certain would take less time as you are getting pretty close to your date.
2. cake topper- you could repeat the Mr and Mrs from your sweetheart table, or use any of your ideas in your colos.
3.Sweetheart table- I agree- keep it simple so people can see you and vice versa- your bouquet, some candles and maybe a Mr and Mrs sign?
4. Chair decorations-for all the chairs or just at the sweetheart table?
5. Cardbox- you could get a square box and just wrap it with wrapping paper in one of your colors, then cut out some same size snowflakes and lay that on top- like this, or if you have some large snowflakes Christmas decorations or can find some, use those.

#1: My grandma may be willing to hem, but I don’t really want to put her to work lol.. Idk I think at least raw edges would look better than plastic tableclothes :0 eek
#2: Thanks, I’m still debating between mr./mrs. and ‘we do’ lol
#4: All of them. (about 75) I already know what I want for the sweetheart table 🙂
#5: I LOVE the image you posted. I’m also thinking about using a white wire birdcage? My grandma has a large one she uses for decor that she’ll lend me.

If you don’t want to hem, then at least use pinking shears or some other fancy cut scissors so they don’t fray and they look like you wanted them to be like that.
If you leave them long enough to puddle on the floor so you don’t see the hem(or lack of one), then you also risk a guest stepping on it and pulling the whole cloth off the table.
The birdcage would be fine- maybe attach a snowflake or something to tie in your theme.
