@meganmarie33:  How did you like Jukebox Bandstand? We are between them right now and High Energy DJs. I’m leaning towards Jukebox so I’d love to hear how they worked out for you. Thanks.

@Ms_Purple:  We’re thinking of High Energy DJ, too.  The pricetag is just too seductive…especially since we seem to have under-budgeted for many other parts of our wedding!  Curious; what did Jukebox quote you?

@DomesticDiva:  High Energy does seem like such a good deal, and most of their reviews are positive! I’m kind of torn. What we needed to take into consideration as well was having both music & audio set up at Olbrich Gardens for our ceremony and then traditional DJ set up  at our reception venue – two locations!

High Energy Djs quoted us as an additional $250 for the ceremony. Making our total $595 + $250 = $845. My concern here was that they almost seemed confused on our request for ceremony set up and gave us no details about what that included.

Jukebox Bandstand quoted us $1,100 for the reception (6 hours) and $100 for the ceremony. They said the ceremony is normally $350 but due to our wedding date (not in what they called the “busy season”) they would give us a deal. What I liked about them was their knowledge and details in setting up for the ceremony and reception. It sounded like they’ve worked these locations before and know exactly what to do. Their response was just much more detailed and professional especially with the outdoor ceremony.

On a somewhat side note..Fiance and I accidentally contacted a lot of the same DJs. I told him I had contacted them..he seemed to think I was asking him to contact them so in the end we BOTH did! LOL! Ooops! Jukebox bandstand was the ONLY one who responded to me. They said they were pretty sure my Fiance also contacted them but gave me all the same details and pricing. All the others just responded to Fiance even though I contacted them first. They made no mention that they knew we both contacted them etc. Something about that kind of bugged me.

We also got quotes from Celebrations Entertainment…they gave us little to no more information than we could find on their website, just told us $995 and up. Double Platinum DJ also quoted us for unlimited time all day but they were $1,500! No thanks!!

This is who we used. He traveled from the Milwaukee area to the Dells with no travel fee. It was $500 for 6 hours, I see he does run speacials too. He was great, the light set up was nive. I highly reccomend them:)

@meganmarie33:  Great to hear! I’ve really liked everything about them so far but its good to hear from someone who had them at their wedding. Thanks!

@Ms_Purple:  So, did you end up with Jukebox?

I finally got sick of looking around, said “f*ck it” and went with High Energy DJ.  Weirdly enough, the owner is a relative of one of my college friends!  Small world.

@DomesticDiva:

We did go with Jukebox, in the end because we needed both ceremony and reception at two locations the price difference was minimal. High Energy was going to charge us way more for our ceremony while Jukebox gave us a deal on that part making the totals only like $100 more for Jukebox.

We met with the owner in person too and really felt like they were the right choice for us. I would have been more torn had the savings been more with High Energy. I hope they work out well for you! I’m sure they will. It is a small world that you had a connection to the owner!

@Ms_Purple:  Glad to hear you were able to get such a good deal at Jukebox!  🙂  I figured with the way you talked about them before that you’d end up going with them.

I tried to parlay my random connection to them into a discount, but no dice.  LOL.  I figured, no harm in asking, but know $600 is cheap to begin with.

Just to pick your brain a bit – are you getting a limo or similar?  If so, have you booked anyone?  Same with flowers.  I bet you’ve mentioned somewhere else previously, but I just can’t remember.

I feel so behind.

@DomesticDiva:

I was actually surprised they ended up giving us a great deal, but they said we were not in “peak wedding season” so we got a discount! I have a connection with our photographer and thought the same thing about a possible discount there too, but like you, no dice on that one. I guess it’s not always about who you know.

I haven’t booked a limo or anything. Not sure if we are going to at all, we cannot seem to decide. I thought it might be cute to book the vintage trolly from Badger Bus but I have a feeling it would be out of budget and I’m really trying not to spend too much more! I’d rather put the money elsewhere…like food and drinks.

As for flowers. At first I was going to DIY, and actually did, but now my DIY flowers will be for the reception decor only. I went with Daffodil Parker for flowers. They had great reviews and since flowers were kind of a last minute addition for me I just went with them. My mom insisted on me having real flowers for the bridal bouquet and bridal party, so she is offering to pay for them. It does make sense of course when I think about the fact we’re getting married in a garden. I met with them just before Christmas and felt really good about it. Not the cheapest option probably, but I think it will turn out beautiful.

@Ms_Purple:  Nice!  Thanks for sharing.  It’s always good to see what’s working for other brides in the area.
