I think is beautiful!  But…you could always take the center stone and have it made into a solitaire?  Or…a jeweler might be able to raise the center stone more so it’s prominent?

Agree with PP – you could take the center stone and have it set as a solitaire.  Are you able to return the ring at this point?

I agree ith Mrs.Lotus!!  Its beautiful!!  And I also think maybe raising the center would define it from the other diamonds and make it feel more like an engagement ring for you(0=

resetting a stone might alter the look of the ring, and cost a few hundred to do. I can’t tell in your pictures if the ring is on prongs or not. But you could always see if it can be set a little higher to stick out. Personally if you love it then rock it.

Even though it might not look like a traditional solitaire engagement ring it is lovely. Personally when I see someone with a ring on that finger I assume it is an engagement ring. or at worst I assume its a wedding ring. Either of those messages get the point accross I think. You could always upgrade to a larger diamond for an anniversary or something to give you longer to save.

@maggiemay0811:  have you thought of getting a moissy e-ring instead? and using this as a wedding band?

Check out some of the treads on moissanite rings – they are beautiful, and everyone assumes its a diamond, just at a fraction of the cost.

My Fiance and I are both just out of med school, and with a ton of debt (and for various ethical reasons), this was the best option for us too!

Just a thought 🙂
