Fiance and I had a very limited budget for engagement rings and we bought it online for a fantastic price. We didnt know much about diamonds or engagement rings
But now I pretty much hate it because it doesnt look like an engagment ring- the center diamond should be bigger and I feel like some people dont know its an engagment ring.
Is there a way to reset one of the stones with a setting with small diamonds? The ring is 1ctw which means the center stone is .33.
It needs to be very low budget.
Any ideas/help would be appreciated!

I think is beautiful! But…you could always take the center stone and have it made into a solitaire? Or…a jeweler might be able to raise the center stone more so it’s prominent?

how about a halo setting?

Agree with PP – you could take the center stone and have it set as a solitaire. Are you able to return the ring at this point?

I agree ith Mrs.Lotus!! Its beautiful!! And I also think maybe raising the center would define it from the other diamonds and make it feel more like an engagement ring for you(0=

resetting a stone might alter the look of the ring, and cost a few hundred to do. I can’t tell in your pictures if the ring is on prongs or not. But you could always see if it can be set a little higher to stick out. Personally if you love it then rock it.
Even though it might not look like a traditional solitaire engagement ring it is lovely. Personally when I see someone with a ring on that finger I assume it is an engagement ring. or at worst I assume its a wedding ring. Either of those messages get the point accross I think. You could always upgrade to a larger diamond for an anniversary or something to give you longer to save.

Thanks for the tips ladies! We are upgrading when Fiance is out of law school and debt paid off but I just wanted something until then.
Does anyone have suggestions of good places to get setting (maybe a halo?) and how will I know if the center diamond fits?

@maggiemay0811: have you thought of getting a moissy e-ring instead? and using this as a wedding band?
Check out some of the treads on moissanite rings – they are beautiful, and everyone assumes its a diamond, just at a fraction of the cost.
My Fiance and I are both just out of med school, and with a ton of debt (and for various ethical reasons), this was the best option for us too!
Just a thought 🙂
