I want to wear a mantilla veil draped over like a drop veil like the below. Cathedral length.

The problem I’m running into is I don’t like the way it looks when its folded over after my dad lifts it. I really want it to look like the below for the rest of the ceremony, the way a mantilla veil is traditionally worn. Any ideas how I can achieve this? Having my dad just lift it and place it, insted of folding it over? Will it stay? I am set on having it draped over my face walking down the isle so just having it pinned like the second picture from the beginning isn’t an option. Oh and just in case it helps I will have my hair down. Thank you!

I think with mantilla and drop veils they are both held in place with several pins, no? Therefore to get both looks you will have to take all the pins out and redo it to look like a proper mantilla veil if you are dead set on having a drop veil when you walk down the aisle. I have never done this myself so I’m not sure how time consuming/feasible that would be.

sapphire27 : That is what I was thinking too ;/ I’ve done research on how to pin them and it seems like it would be too much to do while standing at the alter lol. So I was hoping someone would have a creative solution for me!

I’m wondering if you could do the drop veil to walk down the aisle and then repin it for the way it’s traditionally worn for photos after. I too love the drop veil, but hate how it looks folded over. My compromise is getting a raw edge longer veil so that you can’t tell so much when it’s folded over, but I get how that wouldnt’ work because the lace is so pretty on your veil.

jenaface : I absolutely love both looks, so I can see why you want them both! But no easy or creative solutions are coming to mind I’m sorry 🙁 you might just have to fold back the drop veil
Unless you want to wear two haha!

kristin36890 : That might be the best option. Neither of those are mine just ideas 🙂 But I definitely want a beautiful thick lace like that. Maybe Ill practice with my dad and see if it stays LOL

Do you have a mantilla comb? You might be able to attach it to the veil and then just reposition the comb?

misslucy : Maybe if I attached the comb behind the lace on the part hanging down? So when he lifts it I can just slide the comb in? That could work!
