Just thinking of pink sweeties! Pink marshmellows? Pink love hearts? Those little red jelly hearts? The nuts don’t really ‘fit’ I agree, but some people might want them?

Right now you have 2 pink, 2 gold , 2 chocolate and the nuts. I think it is the numbers of each that will maybe make it look a little choppy.

Add a couple more pink items and have the gold and chocolate as accents

You can get after dinner  mints in a single color:

I think a lot of people would like the nuts, but you could also exchange that item for a sugar free pink candy.

If it helps, this thread is making me want to eat sweets. (Damn the wedding dress diet!). Julies1949 makes an excellent mathmatical point – to have equal portions of colours makes total sense and would create some sort of structure?

Slightly off topic (sorry!) – what is taffy? (We don’t have it in the UK!)

i think this explains it better than i could!  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salt_water_taffy

it’s yummy, chewy but not overly sweet. they sell it by the seashore in all the souvenir shops in the US. many people buy it as a gift for friends while on vacation/holiday.

@Button: I was actually making the opposite point. Even numbers are not pleasing to the eye and make things look choppy.

If it is a pink buffet, have more pink , have an odd number of pink ,and only a couple of items in accent colors.
