To save money, my fiance and I are giving one invitation per family or per couple, as opposed to one for each and every guest attending.
Unfortunately, our RSVP cards aren’t worded properly to help guests indicate exactly how many people from their group will be attending.
This is how my respond cards are worded:
__ Persons accept
__ Persons decline
I would like them to put a number on the blank space besides “Persons accept” or “Persons decline”
Is this clear enough?? Should I give them instructions on how to complete it?? I’m worried that people will just put a check mark instead of a number.
Should I get my respond cards re-done??

I take it they’re already printed? If so, just roll with it. Any headaches will be solvable on the backend.
If not, I’d reword to have “accepts” or whatev, then a second indented line saying “number attending.” I think it’s a bit clearer.

I wrote the guests’ names on the card. If people aren’t attending, they’ve included a note on the card. (ie, a couple and only one person is coming). So far, it hasn’t been a problem, but I’ve only been getting responses for a week.

This is what I did for mine.
__ seat(s) have be reserved in your honor
___ of ___ will be attending
We filled in the blank with the number of seats reserved.
