I’ve tried to talk about this to my Fiance but I guess he thinks I’m overplanning. In his defense we are eloping and having a very short ceremony with just our parents and siblings so its very informal but I still think we should think the day through…SIGH
We have the venue for two hours from noon-2. ( we could possibly arrive a tad bit earlier). The photographers are booked for a 2 hours window.
Here’s my idea
8-10am hair (at my hairdressers salon)
10:15-11:15 make up (at a MAC counter)
11:15 -12:00 travel to venue (only about 30min away)
12:00 photographers arrive
12:00-12:15 get dressed (pics)
12:15 guest arrive
12:15-12:30 take first look pics (or still be getting dressed not sure if i’m underestimating that time)
12:45-1:15 more pics (of us around the venue)/ guest eat appetizers
1:15 – 2:00 cake cutting and family pics
2:00 ITS OVER!!!
realistic??? please help

@luvmesumhim: Hiya! Just saw your time line
I have no idea if this is realistic- my own time line scares me. I think you may be underestimating the getting dressed time—depending on your style of dress.
But I really wrote to warn you, please call the MAC counter to make sure they do makeup that early. I am getting my makeup done at a MAC counter and I called 2 places and they both will not start makeup until 11am even though they open at 10am. DOUBLE CHECK!!!

@RabbitBride: oh wow. I hadn’t made the appt yet because I was still deciding on which location to use (one closer to my hairdresser or closer to the venue). This sucks!!! but thank you for warning me

@luvmesumhim: It may be different by you. I tried two in Los Angeles and now I just think I am going to do the closer apointment and be rushed on the later end of things but my ceremony is at 2pm.
Call and ask maybe they are open earlier.

@RabbitBride: ugh. Yeah mine is at noon. So I was already tight.

@RabbitBride: you were right. Their first appt is at 11 :-(. I found a sephora that I think felt bad for me and made me a 10am appt. I also found a MUA who will me me at the salon to do my makeup, but he’s pricier

Well that’s good! I think Sephora might be the way to go. Just bring pictures or do a trial before hand if you can. I just did a trial yesterday and with a few tweaks I loved my make-up. Good luck!!

It takes longer than 15 mins to get dressed. Do you have a corset or just zip up? It still took forever for the hose, dress (dont ruin the hair), shoes. Personally I would pay more for the MUA to show up at the salon. It just worth it for me to not be a stress ball my wedding day.
Ask the photographer how long the First Look photos will take. Keep in mind you have to find a place that the guests wont see you and you have to walk from that location back to the ceremony location. It might only be 2-3 mins each way, but that time adds up!
Do you have a place that you’ll be going to afterwards? Not a place you will pay for guest meals, but a word of mouth the B&G will be eating/hanging out at X Bar if you want to grab a drink.
