I think they’re really sweet, but I’m not sure if your wedding ceremony is the right time to talk about football and cheering for the other team?

My officiant told us that a good way to think about your vows (which I haven’t even started writing yet, so you’re way ahead of me here) is to kinda talk about your relationship–what you first liked about the other person, what makes you love them now, and the promises you are making as their spouse and life partner.  Much easier said than done, I know.  As far as length, I think it’s a little on the short side, but it all depends how long the rest of the ceremony will take.

@AJ-n-Ashley: I think they seem a little generic.  Maybe you should list all the things you love about your Fiance and go from there.  By The Way, I like the football blurb. I think it’s endearing to make jokes at the alter.

cute cake topper! i would maybe rethink the football part  -save it for your letter (if you are writing him one) or for rehearsal dinner?

the rest sounds really really nice though! keep it.

You have some lovely sentiments in there, and I actually love the football bit because it shows that even though you will now share your lives together as a married unit, you are not giving up your individuality. But I think the wording and order of what you want to say could just use some tweaking.

These are wedding vows and love is the central theme, but I kind of feel like the word “love” itself is repeated too many times. Too much repetition can take away from the meaning.

You also seem to jump around a bit from one idea to another. I would try rearranging some of your thoughts so that they flow more cohesively and almost tell a story.

@AJ-n-Ashley :  I liked the first go round minus the football part.  However, after you did the edit I think it is perfect.  It really sounds like it fits you two specifically.
