Using black and orange together in October will make people think you’re having a halloween wedding (I’m sorry for people who are having Halloween weddings but I can’t stand holiday themed weddings).. I originally wanted an October wedding (it didn’t work out for visa reasons) and I was going to choose deep purples and maroons

We’re sort of using black as one of our colors (the tuxes will be black, as will everyone’s shoes), but in my mind it’s more of an “accent” color, rather than a main color.  (Our other colors are maroon and turquoise, which aren’t necessarily “fall”).

I think red and burnt orange are both nice colors, though it may be nice to add something a little different to it that’ll really create a contrast.  Yellow is a nice contrast to both, or olive goes along with the feel of “fall” colors.

I think it may be good to consider what colors you like and not necessarily think about the “fall” theme of it, or make that the main focus (unless that is really important to you).

I think ultimately thogh, if you feel really strongly compelled to have  black be a main color, then go for it.  ๐Ÿ™‚

You should do what you want to do, regardless of worrying what everyone else thinks!  It’s your wedding, and if you’re envisioning red, burnt orange and black, go for it!

My Fiance picked black and orange as the colors for our Oct 1 celebration and not due to halloween.  He is sooo excited to have the orioles colors as his wedding colors.

My biggest fear is him putting names and numbers on the backs of the tuxes.  He’s joked about it and says he won’t really do it… Don’t know if i trust him.

I’m having a fall wedding and didn’t want to do the traditional fall colors… I’ve eventually decided on purples, greens, and blues, with perhaps some orange-y, wine-y accents.

Do what you envision! Tell the Future Mother-In-Law “I know that brown is a traditional accent to orange and red, but we’re not always a traditional couple. We love the idea of black accents.” I guarantee that she will try to convince you to change your mind with some well-placed looks or “oh, well, black is lovely, but…,” but you should stand firm! ๐Ÿ™‚

I think it will look a little more like halloween by pairing black and orange. What about Black, Orange, and green?   I love these colors but if you love the colors you’ve already picked then go with it, maybe do mostly red and black with a little bit of your orange

I’m doing bugundy (one of the more blackish red tones) and gold for my fall wedding. The groomsmen will be in black. Burnt orange, gold, and ivory would be gorgeous, too!

We are doing navy and hot pink for our October wedding. It’s your wedding and you should choose any colors you want. Just becuase it’s a fall wedding you shouldn’t be stuck with “fall” colors.

@peachbaby4008: What if you used the white cinderella pumpkins instead of the orange?

We are having an apple theme, the dresses are apple from David’s and the accent color is champagne.
