Hi bees! I bought a set of bamboo plates and flatware to see if I liked it enough for the wedding. Turns out the plates are pretty nice and the flatware is crap. So my question is, would it be tacky to have the disposable/reusable bamboo plates with regular flatware (like silver, etc)? We really can’t afford to shell out the $$ for full-on china, etc. Or should I just find a different disposable flatware? If so, any ideas? I don’t wan’t tacky white, since I’m trying to get a $$$$$$$ look with $$ money.

Can you afford to rent the flatware and plates? How much of a difference is it between the bamboo and renting

It’s a good .50 cents – .75 cents difference, which is about 100 bucks (still too much!) And then we still have to clean the plates for return and be careful not to break them, etc.

@M.Ruder: have you tried looking at the plastic silverware that looks like real silverware?
It’s called reflections and I think they sell them at Wal-Mart, Party City, etc.
