- Wedding: December 2012
I need help! My fiancé and I are having a non-traditional wedding. We are getting married in Key West with just our immediate family- there is a total of 10 of us. We will be down there for 3 days and be able to relax and enjoy. After the ceremony we will go out to dinner and then head out for dancing and drinks- the perfect wedding in my eyes. We already have everything planned for this. There are a lot of personal reasons we are doing it this way- family drama, financial situations, etc. (We live in Florida but our family and friends are in New Jersery).
The problem we are facing is we are really looking to have a party afterwards where we can invite our friends and family. We are not calling it a “reception” because no one is coming to the actual ceremony. We are not asking for gifts. We just want to be able to celebrate. There is about 100 people on our guest lists due to the very large family my fiancé has.
I have been looking everywhere to have it and cant find what I’m looking for. Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone done this before? I don’t want the traditional sit down wedding at a banquet hall. But we do want food, alcohol and a DJ. I have looked at bars but many are not big enough or just as expensive as having it at a hall.
It is hard for people to understand what we want and why it is we are doing it this way. If anyone has any suggestions or places in the New Jersey/ Pennsylvania area please let me know!
