hi bees! i’ve been browsing the site for a few months, and decided to sign up! i need some help with my e-ring – i love it, but now that i’ve had it for about 4 months now, i feel like the ring is set too low. my sister and mom keep telling me to raise it up to show off the diamond more. it’s a 1 ct cushion cut, F clarity, very beautiful rock. i get compliments on what a good diamond it is, which is cool. the band has 14 princess-cut diamonds (7 on each side) in a channel setting. ring size is 4.25, i have small hands. thoughts? here are pics to give you an idea. thanks!!

I think it looks perfect as is! 🙂 Also up high enough so a band can fit but not high enough to slam against things.
But its your ring, if you want it higher go for it! 🙂

That is really low….I would raise that puppy up a little bit, when your dealing with a cushion cut, getting light from the sides and below is what’s going to set that bad boy on fire! Mine sits mighty high and I have an emerald cut, it blazes! And don’t worry about the high setting, you get really used to it!

thanks for the tips! yeah, fiance is worried it won’t be “as safe” if it’s higher, but i see EVERYONE with much higher settings and it seems fine.

@Dsnice: I would leave it as is. I have a cathedral setting and my diamond sits high and it gets caught on everything. FWIW I think your diamond looks great!
