Awhile ago, I posted the image below of my ribbon napkin rings. Now, the time has come for me to actually put these together and I’m struggling. Part of the problem is that the silver ribbon (satin edged organza ribbon) is stiff and the blue is satin and soft. When I put them together the silver “bubbles” off the blue. What can I use to “glue” these together. Everything I’ve tried so far has shown through the organza portion.

Have you tried fabric glue? It dries clear.

Why don’t you try using double-sided tape? You can cut it down the match the thin band on the silver ribbon. It is usually my go-to solution when glue fails me.

You could try Stitch Witchery. It essentially sews fabric together without actually having to sew. It comes in the form of a long tape and then you iron the two pieces of fabric (or ribbon in this case) together. The heat dissolves the tape into a glue-like substance that fuses it together. It is not completely clear, but fairly close.

Thanks ladies! I’ve tried double sided tape and it just stayed sticky (through the organza) but I didn’t try cutting it down. I’ll have to head into Joanns when I get home and see what kinds of fabric glue they have! I might also try sewing it (not sure why this JUST occured to me… perhaps lack of sleep (I just got off the red-eye back east). I’ll let you know how it turns out!
