I love my asscher diamond, but am not in love with the prong setting. The first photo is of my ring. Before I get my wedding band, I’m trying to decide whether to get a halo around my asscher ring (like picture 2) to soften up the edges and to allow for the octoganal shape to show more which is currently limited by the placement of the prongs over the 4 corners. What does everybody think? The other option is to try to just change the prong setting by getting double prongs that go around both sides of each corner (like in picture 3). Also, I love the pave setting in the band, but am debating on keeping it as is or going with an infinity band similar to the fourth photo. Opinions/thoughts?!?!?!

OMG Asschers are so beautiful on their own they dont need anything like a halo or side stones. I voted for the plain shank with the double prong. It is a stunning ring girl I am so jealous!!! Asscher cut is my favorite and if we would have had that option up here when I got engaged I would have gotten one 🙂

but if you really dont like it you can always give it to me (wink wink)

As a fellow asscher girl I always think they look kinda strange in halos. The double prong you posted is gorgeous.

I think halos take away from asscher cuts. I voted for the double prong because I think that setting really showcases your diamond. It so so beautiful!

I looove the double prong, but not the halo!

I’m obviously in the minority as I love step cuts in halos. I love the constrast between the sparkly side stones and the deep clear cut of the ascher. I don’t like the ascher solitaire nor the infinity band.
I like your setting the way it is. You can always ask the jeweler to put the double prongs on your current setting,

I love the way the halo looks, but the prongs right on the corner still cover up the feature you’re trying to hilight, so based on what YOU’RE looking for, I’m voting double-prong.
I don’t care for that infinity band whatsoever with the asscher… totally detracts from the architectural beauty of the step cut imo.

I like #3 because it’s simple and accentuates the beautiful cut of the diamond. While the other settings are pretty, I think they take the focus away from the beautiful Asscher cut.

Absolutely as is – your ring is beyond beautiful!

Thanks for all the feedback! So do we think that changing it to double prongs will help show off the octagonal shape better?

Voted infinity band because it’s almost identical to mine – except mine is round cut and has one less …loop? on either side 🙂

I like #3 and #4 best. Very pretty.
