I have almost all my thank you cards done. All that I have left are the cards for Checks or Cash that we recieved. Can you guys help me out with wording on these ones? I totally suck at this stuff!!
I normally say that for the $100 we used it to purchase such and such. However, most of it we have yet to use. Do I just lie and say I got our pots or bedding? This is why I have put off writing these thank you notes so far…

I’d just lie. I’m going to say we used it to splurge on our honeymoon.

I just said, “Thank so much for your very generous gift! It will come in very useful as we begin our new life together.” Or say that you’re saving for a house, or mention that you plan on purchasing the rest of your china with it.

I write almost the same as 2Peas…kind of generic but still nice – along the lines of “Thank you for the kind gift! We truly appreciate your generosity as we begin to build our lives together. We are lucky to have such good friends/family to share in our joy.”

I just said we’ll be saving it for our future together.

I said we were putting all monetary gifts in a savings account to use for the purchase of a new home 🙂 This way the guests felt they were REALLY helping! (And we seriously got enough from the wedding for a hefty down payment, it was nice!)

I didn’t reference buying anything with it – I just said something like: thank you for your generous monetary gift. It was very kind and will help us as we start our lives together as husband and wife.
