We had our tux consultation last night and it was mediocre at best (that’s a post for another day). We decided on a tux but since we won’t be getting the guys vests, we can’t go with the ties that will be included with the tux’s. Apparently the ties are considerably shorter than they should be since they are made to be worn with vests that would cover them up anyways. Am I the only one that thinks this is a major flaw? Anywho, Fiance and I just decided to buy the ties ourselves rather than deal with the ones the tux shop will provide.
Here lies the problem, the tuxes are chocolate brown and our bridesmaids dresses are burnt orange. Burnt orange is like the hardest color EVER to match. Because of this, we decided to just look for brown ties but I would prefer they not be solid. I love the tie thats paired with the tux in the pic below but I can’t seem to find it anywhere (its kind of hard to see but it’s a rust color). The tuxes are pinstriped so we have to keep that in mind when searching for ties as well. Another obstacle we have is that FI’s a big guy so he’ll need an extra long tie. I’ve already come to terms with the fact that the guys and Fiance will more than likely have to wear different ties and I’m fine with that as long as everything coordinates.
I’ve been looking for ties for the last 24 hours and I’m about ready to loose it. Anyone bored and want to help? Ideally we would like to spend less than $25 per tie since we’re already spending more than $100 on their Bridal Party gifts.
Here’s the tux we’re going with…
ETA: The guys will be wearing ivory dress shirts if it makes a difference.
