I’m trying to decide what I want to do for tuxedos for my fiance, the dads, and the groomsmen. I’m doing the standard classic black tuxedos, but I want to somehow make the groom look slightly different than the groomsmen. (Just enough so that if someone who didn’t know were looking at all of them, it’d be clear which one he is.) I do not plan to have the groomsmen wear vests/ties that match the pink bridesmaid dresses, and i’ve already heard several sighs of relief from them that they won’t have to wear hot pink.
I think I’d like everyone in some sort of a vest (no cumberbund) with a silvery/grey tone-on-tone type pattern.
I also don’t care for the look that seems common now, of having the groom wear a black tux but white shirt, white vest, white tie- i like the look of contrast. (Of seeing the tie and vest, not having it all blend.)
Fiance has had one opinion on only one thing the entire time we’ve been planning the wedding. He doesn’t want to wear a bowtie. Which is fine with me, i think a standard straight tie is fine.
Suggestions for what to do to make them different? All I’ve come up with is the same tux/vest color for everyone, but fiance and the dads wear straight ties and groomsmen wear bowties. I’ve had suggestions of making the grooms boutonniere different/more elaborate. to help him be different.
any other suggestions?
