Hello fellow brides,
I am deeply in need of your sage advice. We are planning a wedding in the Philadelphia area for September 2018 on a BUDGET for around 130 guests. I have been contacting venues and caterers but everything is SO EXPENSIVE. My fiancee is a chef so the food is important to him and of course the venue is important to me. We would love an outdoor setting with beautiful gardens for pictures and hopefully some decent and interesting food. But we only have about $8000 to spend on food and $4000 to spend on venue.
Has anyone had any good experiences they’d care to share? Or words of wisdom? I’m struggling here…

If you are open the going outside the city, but not too far, there is the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ with terrific food at Rat’s Restaurant. You might even consider Jasna Polana, which is a stunning venue and the food is outstanding. Good luck in your search!!

There’s a partyspace, for the Philadelphia area. It would be a good start, since it has information on dozens of venues, in one place. I always recommend going a little further south to DE, since they have no sales tax. My daughter married there and saved thousands.

The Sayre Mansion and Glasbern Inn are worth checking out.
